    The Iwaki Platform is located approximately 40km east of Nahara Cho in the Fukushima prefecture of Japan, and was installed in 1983 after the Iwaki Gas Field was discovered in 1973. The decommissioning of the platform was awarded to Nippon Steel Engineering Co Ltd, and subsequently SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd was awarded the offshore scope of work which included the decommissioning of the topsides, jacket, and associated secion 12" gas export pipeline. This work was executed using the Sapura 3000 vessel and was completed in early 2010. Jika minyak ditemui, BOP (blow out preventer, sejenis valve berfungsi sebagai plug) akan diletakkan. Next stage is, supermajor akan decide pelantar jenis apa yang akan dibina (ini sudah termasuk dalam segment development). Apabila sudah diputuskan (semasa FEED, front end engineering design stage), then detail design akan dimulakan oleh company consultancy (seperti Technip, perunding Ranhill Worley, MMC dan RNZ). Sebaik sahaja design sudah siap, then pelantar minyak akan dibina di daratan. Siap sahaja pelantar ini, syarikat installation seperti Sapura Kencana akan memasang di offshore. Apabila pelantar siap dipasang, then segment production akan bermula. RAMBIZ, our heavy lift vessel, was mobilized from Flushing, the Netherlands, on March 10, 2017 and arrived at the offshore field two days later. Over the following three days, the complete platform was decommissioned; an in- and out-seabed survey was carried out; the topside was cut, lifted and sea fastened onboard the RAMBIZ; the jacket piles were dredged and cut; the Internal Lifting Tools (ILT’s) were installed; and the jacket was lifted. The RAMBIZ returned to a disposal yard in Flushing with the topside stowed on deck and the jacket suspended in the PS crane.

The Iwaki Platform is located approximately 40km east of Nahara Cho in the Fukushima prefecture of Japan, and was installed in 1983 after the Iwaki Gas Field was discovered in 1973. The decommissioning of the platform was awarded to Nippon Steel Engineering Co Ltd, and subsequently SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd was awarded the offshore scope of work which included the decommissioning of the topsides, jacket, and associated secion 12" gas export pipeline. This work was executed using the Sapura 3000 vessel and was completed in early 2010. SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd requested the assistance of Constructive Media to assist with creating a 3D animation that re-enacted the decommissioning process of the Iwaki Platform.

A fixed platform is a type of offshore platform used for the production of oil or gas. These platforms are built on concrete and/or steel legs anchored directly onto the seabed, supporting a deck with space for drilling rigs, production facilities and crew quarters. Such platforms are, by virtue of their immobility, designed for very long term use. Various types of structure are used, steel jacket, concrete caisson, floating steel and even floating concrete. Steel jackets are vertical sections made of tubular steel members, and are usually piled into the seabed. Concrete caisson structures, pioneered by the Condeep concept, often have in-built oil storage in tanks below the sea surface and these tanks were often used as a flotation capability, allowing them to be built close to shore (Norwegian fjords and Scottish firths are popular because they are sheltered and deep enough) and then floated to their final position where they are sunk to the seabed. Fixed platforms are economically feasible for installation in water depths up to about 1,700 feet (520 m). Gas Platform is an unmanned offshore gas production platform. A large structure with facilities to extract and process natural gas. In many cases, the platform contains facilities to house the workforce as well.
